An Iranian
official said that some Iranian-made ballistic missiles have already been
transferred to Russia. The Iranian official is a member of the National
Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Iranian Parliament, Ahmad
Bakhshayesh Ardestani. He literally said that we have sent Iranian ballistic
missiles to Russia.
The source of the news is the Iran Internationale website, and the parliamentarian Ardestani justified the transfer of the missiles to Russia on the pretext that Iran is forced to barter with Russia to meet our needs. It is known that Iran imports wheat and soybeans, where the latter is considered an important food and industrial material.
Not only that, but
Iran has also sent an unknown number of drones, most likely of the loitering
drone category.
Iran's move to
send Iranian-made ballistic missiles to Russia will lead to more complications
and most likely more sanctions on ballistic missiles, but the answer of the
parliamentarian Ardestani was shocking regarding the matter, as he said that
Tehran has been facing Western sanctions for years, so what will sending
weapons to Russia change or not?
Ardestani added: Iran has a broad partnership with Russia and arms transfer and export are part of that strong partnership. We import soybeans, wheat and other goods from Russia. The Europeans support Ukraine with weapons. Why don't we support our ally by sending missiles and drones to Russia?
United States of
America:
On September 6,
the Militarnyi website reported that the United States had informed its allies in Europe
that Tehran would transfer Iranian missiles to Russia. Bloomberg reported on
September 2, 2024, that Iran would support Russia with ballistic missiles
manufactured in Iran without mentioning the type and number.
